Rich Is The Poor (Merry XMas)
It's three days before Christmas and I'm so into songs by John Lennon. One of my favorites around this time is Merry XMas (The War Is Over). The problems we all face personally along with the climate of our current society, this song should give any genuine person hope for a better tomorrow. A more bizarre idea would be to donate the clothes off one's back or volunteer for a soup kitchen (just a thought).
Since my early young adult years I often wondered what if we used half of the money we spend on clothes, technical devices, and toys on helping to uplift the poor and unfortunate? All those toys I had growing up just makes me feel guilty inside.
When I was a boy I thought as a boy. Now that I'm a man I think as a man (as the popular saying goes). As an adult literature is my new toy of enjoyment. Knowledge is the key to heaven for me. I read books from authors such as James Baldwin and Ta-Nehisi Coates. I don't like begging for too much nowadays (just isn't my way of receiving possessions).
Hold on for just a little while long, this won't be too long.
This is not just another page on one of my blogs. Clearly this is a declaration that I share with you and the whole world. I come to you not as a prophet, nobleman, or even a leader, but as simply a man. I come to you like a thief in the night, coming to give you some good news. A working class hero, that I am.
During the up and coming holiday let's try to focus on the things that actually matter. Whoever has a hard time with this just think of what the man named Jesus and what he would do to help those in need.
Merry Christmas (XMas) and have a joyous New Year. Cheerio.
